Designed for residential use, the Nighthawk Carbon Monoxide detector keeps everyone in the house safe from poisonous, odorless CO fumes. The unit detects carbon monoxide levels from 30 to 999 parts per million. Its low-profile design doesn't stand out when connect to any wall outlet. The unit plugs directly into AC outlets for easy setup, and comes equipped with a 9-volt battery for backup during power outages. Its loud, 85-decibel alarm is sure to alert the whole house when safe carbon monoxide levels are breached. The Nighthawk is UL listed, and features a continuous digital readout of carbon monoxide levels, as well as peak-level memory display, and a test/reset button. 	Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - Works in Practice Our Viking convection oven didn't light immediately and neither my wife nor I noticed it until I went upstairs from the kitchen and saw the Kidde Nighthawk LED display rising from "0"ppm to "40", "50", "57", at which point we opened the windows, turned on the fans etc (50ppm is still considered safe by OSHA but anything over 0ppm isn't alright by me). In any case this detector was one floor up from our kitchen and still caught what was certainly a hazard. I highly recommend getting this unit, because of its LED readout. It's very useful to know what the PPM of CO detected is and you can do that with this unit. With most alarms, w/out LED readouts you have no idea if it's 50ppm or 10,000ppm (huge leak). The difference between the two readings being that you can open the windows and look for the problem in the first case where in the latter, you should head for fresh air immediately.
